Katy Perry (* 25. Oktober 1984 als Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson in Santa Barbara, Kalifornien) ist eine US-amerikanische Sängerin und Songwriterin. Bisher ist sie vor allem durch ihren weltweiten Erfolgshit I Kissed a Girl bekannt geworden.

Karriere
Die Liebe zur Musik entdeckte die Tochter einer Pastorenfamilie während eines Kirchenfestes, da Perrys Vater sie dazu brachte, im örtlichen Gospelchor mitzusingen.[1] Später entdeckte sie die Band Queen für sich und war sofort von der Stimme des Frontmanns begeistert („Als ich zum ersten Mal die Stimme von Freddie Mercury hörte, war es, als ob sich der Himmel öffnet“), da ihr diese Musikrichtung aufgrund elterlicher Einschränkungen noch gänzlich unbekannt war.[2]

Im Jahr 2001 erhielt Perry einen Vertrag mit dem Label Red Hill Records. Kurz darauf veröffentlichte sie unter ihrem richtigen Namen Katy Hudson das gleichnamige Debütalbum, welches aber trotz des „breiten Anklang[s] in der christlichen Musikszene“[3] kommerziell erfolglos blieb. Nach dem Erscheinen ihres ersten Albums änderte sie ihren Künstlernamen auf den Geburtsnamen ihrer Mutter – Perry – ab, um zukünftig nicht mehr mit Kate Hudson verwechselt zu werden.

2004 arbeitete Perry für das Label The Matrix, wobei sie die Arbeit an ihrem ersten Mainstream-Album begann, das 2005 erscheinen sollte. Einige der Titel wurden auf ihrer offiziellen MySpace-Seite veröffentlicht und Simple ist auf dem Soundtrack von Eine für 4 enthalten.[4] In der Musikmetropole Nashville lernte sie den Produzenten Glenn Ballard kennen, der auch schon für No Doubt tätig gewesen ist. Dieser förderte gezielt ihr Talent und stand ihr bei den ersten professionellen Aufnahmen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite.[5] Von da an geriet Perry immer mehr ins Blickfeld der einflussreichen Produktionsfirmen, wie beispielsweise Capitol Records, und der Medien.

Im Mai 2008 wurde die erste Single I Kissed a Girl aus ihrem nachfolgenden Album One of the Boys in den USA veröffentlicht, welches sie dort auch auf der Warped Tour vorstellte. So erreichte der Titel Platz 1 in Kanada und im Juni auch die Spitze der US-amerikanischen und australischen Charts.[6] Am 1. August wurde der Titel auch in Deutschland veröffentlicht und stieg auf Platz 2 der Media-Control-Single-Charts ein.[7] In der 4. Woche eroberte der Song auch Platz 1 in Deutschland. Als zweite Single ist der Song Hot N Cold vorgesehen.

Ich habe ein paar Stunden vom letzten Tag aufgenommen und zwar alle vier Kameraperspektiven,die fünfte habe ich mir geschenkt da dort nur ein Splitscreen von den anderen vier zu sehen war.Eigentlich wollte ich das anschliessende Konzert auch aufnehmen aber nach ein paar Minuten habe ich das abgebrochen da ich das doch sehr langweilig fand.Also hier ein kleines Bestof von Katy aus den verschiedenen Perspektiven zusammengeschnitten.
