Sharon den Adel

[SAW]

1996 gründete den Adel mit ihrem Lebensgefährten Robert Westerholt die Band Within Temptation. Zuvor waren beide Mitglieder einer Band mit dem Namen The Voyage. Den Adel ist gelernte Mode-Designerin und übte diesen Beruf auch noch in den ersten Jahren von Within Temptation aus. Aber nach dem Erfolg der Single Ice Queen gab sie diese Arbeit als Beruf auf und konzentriert sich seitdem auf ihre musikalische Karriere.

Den Adels hohe Stimme ist der wichtigste Teil der Band. Obwohl diese einen professionellen Klang hat, hatte den Adel nie Gesangsunterricht. Nach eigener Aussage hat sie sich selbst trainiert.

Sie wirkte auch bei anderen Projekten mit, unter anderem hatte sie Auftritte bei After Forever oder bei Tobias Sammet's Avantasia.

Gemeinsam mit dem niederländischen Deejay Armin van Buuren produzierte sie die Single "In And Out Of Love" 2008, indem sie diesem Titel ihre Stimme leiht.
