Ariane Friedrich

Ariane Friedrich (* 10. Januar 1984 in Nordhausen) ist eine deutsche Hochspringerin.

Ihre größten sportlichen Erfolge sind der Gewinn der U-20-Junioreneuropameisterschaft 2003, der Deutsche Meistertitel in den Jahren 2004, 2007 und 2008, die Deutschen Hallenmeistertitel in den Jahren 2004, 2006 und 2007, die Silbermedaile bei der Universiade 2007 in Bangkok sowie die jeweils dritten Plätze bei der Universiade in Izmir und der U23-Junioreneuropameisterschaft in Erfurt im Jahr 2005. Mit 2,01 Metern verteidigte sie 2008 ihren Deutschen Hallenmeistertitel und hält somit auch den hessischen Rekord. Bei der Hallenweltmeisterschaft in Lissabon wurde sie Achte. Beim Leichtathletik-Europacup in Annecy stellte sie am 22. Juni 2008 mit 2,03 Meter eine persönliche Bestleistung auf.

Bei den olympischen Spielen 2008 startete Friedrich als Medaillenkandidatin im Hochsprung. Obwohl ihr zunächst die Sprünge über 1,85 Meter, 1,93 Meter und 1,96 Meter im ersten Versuch gelangen, schied sie mit dreimal gerissenen 1,99 Meter frühzeitig aus und wurde somit Siebte. Die Siegerin Tia Hellebaut übersprang ebenso wie die zweitplatzierte Blanka Vlašić 2,05 Meter.

Ariane Friedrich gehört der Sportfördergruppe der hessischen Polizei an und ist angehende Polizeikommissarin. In der Jugend trainierte sie bei der LG Kaufungen, danach trat sie für den TV Hessisch Lichtenau an. Seit 2003 startet sie für die LG Eintracht Frankfurt und wird von Günter Eisinger trainiert. Friedrich ist mit dem Schwimmer Lukasz Woijt liiert.
