Angela Roy (* 20. Juni 1957 in Hamburg als Angela Giesen) ist eine deutsche Schauspielerin

Kindheit
Ihre Eltern waren Wurfakrobaten und sind mit einem dritten Partner als Iris Roy Trio durch die Welt gereist. So wechselte auch die Tochter bis zum elften Lebensjahr ständig den Wohn- und Aufenthaltsort. Nach eigenen Angaben verfügte sie über eine große Sprachbegabung und erlernte schnell verschiedene europäische Sprachen (darunter drei skandinavische), von denen sie heute noch Englisch, Französisch, Italienisch und Spanisch spricht.


Ausbildung
Angela Roy hat in Hamburg Abitur gemacht. Sie studierte Ballett, Gesang und Choreographie. Ihre Schauspielausbildung absolvierte sie an der Royal Acadamy of Dramatic Arts in London. Außerdem besitzt sie einen Abschluss als staatlich geprüfte Übersetzerin (Englisch/Deutsch).


Karriere
Nach Theater-Engagements in Pforzheim, Heppenheim und London war sie längere Zeit in München tätig, wo sie in mehreren Häusern spielte und 1998 sogar Regie führte. Dort begann auch ihre Fernseh-Karriere mit den Serien Zwei Brüder und Aus heiterem Himmel, nachdem sie bereits 1977 einmal und ab 1987 sporadisch in Fernsehepisoden mitgewirkt hatte. Von November 2006 bis Oktober 2007 war sie in einer Hauptrolle in der Telenovela Rote Rosen zu sehen. 2008 dreht sie den Drama-Film Das Traumschiff: Papua-Neuguinea, mit ihrem ehemaligen Kollegen aus Rote Rosen, Jan Hartmann.
