Model Hilary Rhoda

Hilary Rhoda, born and raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland, attended Catholic school throughout her youth.
Although she always aspired to be a model, she also had a huge interest in participating in various team sports.
Her passions were field hockey, lacrosse and swimming. While still in high school, she entered into a model convention, signed with an agency and modeled part time.

Her very first job was for a clothing company working with none other than world-renowned photographer, Bruce Weber.
After completing school, she moved to New York to pursue a full time modeling career.

Hilary’s break came after shortly arriving in Paris for the Spring/Summer 2006 collections, when she was personally cast by Balenciaga’s Nicholas Ghesquiere to walk in his show.

That one fateful booking set up a chain reaction that resonated into bookings with other major designer in town: Dior, Chanel, Rochas, and YSL, and Valentino, where she had the distinction of opening the show.

On the heels of a whirlwind breakout season, Nicholas Ghesquiere and photographer David Sims then went one step further.

For their S/S 06 Balenciaga advertisement, they not only selected to work with the most coveted models of the season, but they decided Hilary was most representative of the brand and intimately she was featured with the only solo shot of the series.

Influential magazine editors took notice as well. Hilary started appearing on the covers and inside pages of the industry’s most prestigious magazines, including Vogue, (American, Italian, French, Japanese & Chinese), W, Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine, i-D, Dazed & Confused, Self Service and Nume´ro.

Her image has been captured by many of fashion’s leading photographers: Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Craig McDean, David Sims, Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Arthur Elgort, Greg Kadel, Solve Sundsbo, Glen Luchford, Hiro, Dusan Reljin and Terry Tsiolis, to name a few.

In the Fall of 2006, Models.com announced that Hilary was one of the most sought after “Top Ten New Faces”.
Hilary’s second runway season only grew more impressive. Among her many other A-list designer shows include Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc, Narciso Rodriguez, Zac Posen, Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Hermes, John Galliano, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera and Ralph Lauren.

Since Balenciaga, Hilary has appeared in campaigns for Pucci, Emanuel Ungaro, Roberto Cavalli Accessories and Ralph Lauren.

She can currently be seen in Fall/Winter 2006 advertisements for Blumarine. In addition to starring on the June cover of Italian Vogue, Hilary can currently be seen on the cover of French Vogue’s August 2006 issue photographed by Mario Testino.

Given her meteoric rise in such a short time, there is little doubt that this American beauty is well on her way to becoming one of fashion’s brightest stars.
