Katja Shchekina (Russian: Катя Щëкина, Romanized Katya Shchokina) (born May 18, 1986) is a Somali-Russian model.

Biography

Katja was born in Perm, Russia to a Russian father and a Somali mother. Because of her exotic looks, she is sometimes mistaken as being from the new wave of Brazilian models.
An in demand high fashion model, Katja has been featured in the likes of Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris and Harpers Bazaar, and has also graced the cover of L'Officiel (Russia). In addition, she has done advertisements for Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas, Juicy Couture, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. She has also walked the runway for many top designers such as Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, La Perla, Oscar de la Renta, and Stella McCartney, and is a favorite with Victoria's Secret.
